Summer Heat

I love summer.

As far as I can remember, it has always been my favorite season (well... maybe right after autumn). I love its colors, the fruit, the long and lazy days, sunshine, water... But Florida is hot. Really hot, which means outdoor activities are kept to a minimum. Instead we try to find ways of staying busy indoors and take abundant trips to the pool.

We also make lots of ice cream.

I will share this recipe with you soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to say hello.

Hope summer is good to you!

It's strange what Summer means to different people. For me, a UK native, now living in Vancouver, BC, Summer is still an unpredictable season, and all my fuzzy memories are related to nostalgia about being kids in Summer when it was hot every day, (so our memories tell us). I envy people who know Summer is going to mean long, sunny days and ice cream. Here, as often as not, Summer can still mean jackets and hot drinks to warm up.

Looks so refreshing! I'm in Texas and we are staying indoors these days too when not at the pool! Can't wait to see this recipe...

I'm looking forward to an English summer with all its unpredictability. Where I live in the UAE it's very predictable ...hot or hotter. The lolly would be more appropriate in Dubai but I'd rather eat it on a Cornish beach (even if I'm wearing a fleece!) Lovely pic

it is so funny how different it is in michigan! everyone is out as much as possible because we have only a few months of warm weather! we've got to savor every moment.

I just came home from a nice sweaty hike and that photo of the popsicle and berries has my mouth watering...

I love the freedom that comes with summer --walking outside with no jacket and barefoot, picking flowers and greens from the garden...but when the heat is unbearable, I get so cranky! My favorite time of summer is when it's warm in the day but in the evening you have to pull out a light sweater or hoodie...a classic day here in Maine. Be well, and enjoy the sun!

Wonderful pops!

I am afraid summer is my least favourite season. But not surprisingly, given I live in the sub-tropics! :)

I'm in a similar climate in north Australia (moved to Oz from Florida) and I love summer. We'd call that an icy pole here and it goes down really well on a hot day.

It's winter now so it's hot soup for me.

It's still fascinating to me how all of us in different parts of the world can communicate so quickly and share what the weather is like where we are. :)

I love summer, but I love the summers I grew up with not these tropical, humid ones. :( I need to get away from Florida this time of year.

Thanks all!

I should have the rest of the post up tomorrow.

Hi to you as well! Just read your Q&A with Dianne at her blog! I loved it.

Summer is hot here in SC! Close to 100s... I miss my childhood summers on the Mediterranean shores of Turkey, as well!

I love summer, it's so much more relaxed than during the school year. There's no homework, I can spend time with the kids, we cookout, and 4th of July with the fireworks.
Popsicles are a definite summer treat. I look forward to the recipe.
