Fig & Fauna Farm Tour and a Food Styling Demo

There is a special place close to where I live called Fig & Fauna.

A home, a family, a farm…

Sort of a magical place where white strawberries and heirloom carrots grow, chicken roam freely, there were even bees….

Remember when Jon, Miren and I visited them earlier this year? We loved it there. Can I say that I even felt a spark?

Megan and I spoke about collaborating at some point and sharing our passion for food and farming with the community…

… And here we are today, excited to announce the Fig & Fauna Farm Tour and Food styling Demo.

Megan and her family are opening their home in Jupiter Farms, FL to the community on Saturday, December 15th from 10am until 12pm.

They will give us a tour of their garden, the goats, chickens, cow, pigs…. the grounds. We will also learn about their organic growing practices and what it takes to live on a family farm.

After the tour, I will do a food styling demonstration with ingredients that we will harvest right from their garden. Can you imagine how excited I am?

I will also have books to purchase and will spend time answering your questions and signing books. Oh and I will make sure to bring some treats!

You can read more about it here.

The event is free to the public, but we ask you to please rsvp to info@figandfauna.com to save a spot.

Hope to see you there… I cannot wait.

Aran, is this in Jupiter, FL? I cannot find the address or directions to Fig & Fauna? Thanks!

        • Aran says:

Yes this is in Jupiter Farms, FL (Palm Beach County). Please rsvp and you can get exact directions. Thanks.

          • I would love to visit your farm with my 2 adult children(from NYC; who told me about your open house today) any time between Dec. 23-28 if you can arrange it. I am happy to pay for your time, or commit to purchasing some things to make this feasible. I teach high school(Boca High) and am very interested in your experiences with Florida farming and your philosophy.I can be reached at 561-322-8887 or LILIDONNER@gmail.com. Thank you for adding beauty to our area and enticing my kids to visit! Warmly, Lisa Maultasch

            Hi Lisa,

I just sent you an email about it. The farm is not mine so I was there as a guest doing a food styling demo. I hope you can make it work!

What an exciting event! I truly wish I lived closer to you as am missing out on all your workshops. Beautiful photography as always.

I have just discovered your amazing blog through whole living magazine and goop. I am so happy to have found it. I have put your small plates & sweet treats cookbook on my wish list for the holidays – my family and I are gluten-free and are always looking for new and exciting recipes. I also try to bake without refined sugar and wonder if you have any suggestions for substitutes. I do use maple syrup, honey, and sometimes agave.

    • Aran says:

Thank you julianna. I like honey and maple syrup as well. I often times use coconut palm sugar which I believe it’s low glycemic and acts very much like cane sugar in recipes.

What a beautiful setting for your workshop ! Do you have a group lined up for the Sweden workshop ? If not , when will you know ? God bless you !

  10. Darn. I just moved to WI from FL in the spring! That’s just my luck….It sounds amazing though!

Oh, how I wish I wasn’t a whole ocean and continent away (and one sea as well!). These kind of homestead-family-‘come-visit’ type of small-holdings don’t exist in Malta. What a wonderful day it would be. Sadly, no hands-on type of farms here that are so important to little one’s growing experiences of their surroundings (so important for kids to know where food comes from!) One day, if you’re ever in France again Aran, there is one similar to Fig and Fauna in Provence, called Graine et Ficelle. It would be wonderful to see them host you for workshops etc. They have the same ethos I think as F&F. I could make it to Provence easily!

  12. Yamilka says:

Me, too, Loretta. We moved from Florida to Portland, Oregon and, although I love here, at times like this I wish we were still there. LOL

    • Aran says:

We are actually trying to move to PNW! :)

      • Yamilka says:

Chose Portland, Aran… it’s as a foodie town; plus you will be close to Bob’s Red Mill! I have to admit, Seattle it’s not too shabby either. LOL.
Hope things turn out exactly the way you are ‘dreaming’ them. Moving from FL to the PNW was the best decision we’ve ever made!

Today I purchased your book at B&N – now I’m off to bed to snuggle in and start reading! It looks awesome and I can’t wait to try the recipes……meanwhile I’m just going to enjoy the words and pics.

    Blessings for a happy week.
    Mary

  15. Katy says:

Bon jour Aran ! I signed up for the Workshop in Sweden but didn’t hear if I was accepted. Will you be posting the names of the people who are going ? Merci beau coup ma belle et artiste ! :-)

  16. El says:
